Casio Cdp 200r Ableton Mac

14.12.2020
My objective is to use My Casio CTK 2000 Keyboard/Piano Set As A Midi Controller.
  1. Read and download Casio Electronic Musical Instruments CDP-230R Owner's Manual online. Download free Casio user manuals, owners manuals, instructions, warranties and installation guides, etc.
  2. Completely cross-platform interface for Mac/PC, iPhone, iPad, or Android device; Audio AND MIDI Recording; Software For All Platforms.
  3. Personally, I like working with Ableton Live for samples and midi because I'm comfortable with. Which DAW is easier to begin with, FL studio or Ableton Live? I have been using Ableton live 9 lite for a couple of months now, and it's growing on me. I use one of these and it's awesome for the price - the Casio CDP-200R.

How To Connect Casio Keyboard To Ableton

Casio CTK 2000

Casio Cdp 200r Keyboard

Ableton Live 6
Fast Track Usb
The back of my Keyboard, I have Sustain, Phones/Output, Audio IN and Usb Connection.
I have the Cable connected from the Keyboard To The Fast Track Usb.
Then I have the Fast Track Usb Connection To My Computer Usb.
When I go into Live 6, I go to the top Menu.
Select Option, Preferences, Then Midi.
Then it gives options of Control Surface, Input and Output.
So I am a little lost at this point, how to connect my Casio CTK 2000 to this device.
Or if it is even compatible.
So I need advice in this area. Since I am new To Midi Devices and Controllers and Really To Not Know Much About Them.
So If someone here and give me some sound advice.
I would really appreciate that.
Thanks,
Ray
Hi all,
I've been trying to get my Casio CDP-200R to connect with my computer so I can use it as a midi keyboard.
However, I'm not making any progress. I'm running Windows 7 64bit, I've tried using the official drivers (here) ,
but the piano doesn't show up in any DAW or midi capable program (tried MIDI-OX, Pro Tools and Ableton Live).
I've also tried using the Roland PC-50 driver (here), as I found people who had success using that.
Using this driver actually gets the piano to appear in the DAWs and MIDI-OX, but no input comes through.
The piano is definitely setup correctly, output on Channel 1 and Local set to ON as well.
Also, I have an old Macbook which doesn't require drivers and the piano works on that straight away, so I know the piano is functioning fine.
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Jimmy
