The standard Live license allows you to use Live on only one computer at a time. However, the Ableton server will provide you with two authorizations in good faith that you will use Live on only one machine at a time. You can therefore run Live on both a studio desktop computer. But what I can't find is on how many computers (macs and/ or pcs) I can install this lite version. Besides that has anybody experience with this Lite version. Is it any good (can it handle all Ableton Live stuff and can you save and record tracks) or do you need to update for this simple things.

Yes you can, and yes you can use both at once. Ableton Live doesn't have some central server thing it calls up to see if anyone else is using that serial at that time. If you get a new computer and have no authorisations left, contact their support and they'll release one for you within a day or two depending on your time difference to Berlin. I have some important gigs coming up and i want to use a second mac to run ableton. So if my main mac running ableton has any tech issues,
I can switch to my other mac running ableton.
I have paid for a full licensed version of Ableton for my main mac.
Can i download Ableton on the other mac, and use the same serial Number?

Can i run both apps of ableton simultaneously?
In the past when i've purchsed upgrades of Ableton, i have always been able to use it on at least one other computer.
When performing, it is important i can have both apps running for easy switch over if one set up has problems.
